Job Duties The Division of Disaster Recovery and Mitigation (DRM) is seeking a dedicated Program Specialist to contribute to the development implementation and monitoring of Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funded programs.
The Program Specialist will work under the supervision of the Program Manager to coordinate various aspects of DRMs resilient programs. This role involves a deep understanding of program policies federal and state regulations requirements procedures and guidelines as well as effective communication with applicants and stakeholders.
Job responsibilities in Brief Major Responsibilities:
Research interpret and apply federal and state regulations to ensure program compliance.
Monitor and enforce compliance with internal procedures and external regulations.
Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments to drive program progress.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to disseminate program updates and collect necessary information.
Formulate and revise policies standard operating procedures and applicant-facing documents including training materials and correspondence.
Generate and update documents using Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint as well as Adobe PDF software.
Audit financial statements and invoices to ensure alignment with program policy.
Obtain and review project status reports for monitoring and accountability.
Evaluate and score project proposals and applications according to established criteria.
Work directly with applicants to collect and assess documentation for eligibility determinations.
