Description

The University of Tennessee Foundation Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Communications Coordinator for the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor the Communication Coordinator is responsible for leading the strategy implementation and maintenance of the UTC Advancement and Alumni digital communication efforts.



Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Web Content Management and Strategy: Leads evolving strategy design and CMS developments of and and its role in achieving overall marketing and communication goals; leads the creation of digital content along with its strategy and optimization; ensures mobile optimization and compliance with accessibility requirements and brand standards. Monitors performance of and to analyze activity and user journey conducting user testing and adjusting designs as needed and generating reports at appropriate intervals.

Communication and Content Creation: Produces the majority of email marketing campaigns for UTC Advancement to support division initiatives and departments including alumni annual giving donor relations stewardship and development to ensure programs initiatives and university priorities are effectively communicated to key audiences as well as evaluation of email performance website traffic and messaging. Creates From the Nest the monthly UTC Alumni newsletter distributed to all alumni and key stakeholders each month. This includes gathering content writing stories editing images and graphics creating supplemental webpages building emails through email marketing software and distribution.

Administrative: Participates in brainstorming planning and strategy sessions within UTC Advancement Office of Communication and other offices within the division especially Alumni Affairs. Assists in project management for UTC Advancement Office of Communication monitors project request forms assigns tasks through a project management system and monitors project status through completion. Participate in departmental meetings professional development and weekly one-on-one sessions with the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Communication and Constituent Relations.



Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

The candidate who fills the Communication Coordinator position is required to have:

  • Bachelors degree or on track to complete one by December 2025
  • 1 years of experience in an office setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are paramount along with creative thinking and superb writing skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills along with a positive attitude
  • Process-driven team player and a proactive decision-maker with a strong desire to advance The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

A valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UTFI reserves the right to consider all appropriate general any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position.

Preferred Education and Experience

In addition to meeting the required qualifications the preferred candidate will have:

  • Masters degree
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in social media management marketing public relations or communication
  • Experience in content development systems (WordPress) CRM (Salesforce) event software (Blackthorn) form building and management (Formstack) email marketing (Marketing Cloud) digital communication Adobe Creative Suite Canva project and social media management software (Asana) and photography
