Industrial Automation Maintenance Electrician Stockton CA
Keep a high-volume manufacturing plant running at peak performance by diagnosing repairing and improving electrical and mechanical systems that power our production lines.

A Day in the Life
You start your shift with a quick handoff from production then prioritize work orders. A conveyor is downyou trace the fault using an ammeter and megger isolate a bad motor starter and bring the line back up safely. Later you install a new 3phase 440V circuit verify controls and dial in a VFD to match process speed. Between calls you update spare parts inventory perform preventive lubrication and adjustments and log PLC troubleshooting notes for the next team.
What Youll Tackle
- Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams for both equipment installs and facility electrical work.
- Disassemble repair/replace and maintain mechanical systems: motors pumps conveyors belts and fans.
- Clean lubricate and adjust mechanical components to restore optimal function.
- Perform major electrical work: 3phase/440V systems PLC troubleshooting new equipment installations and circuit testing.
- Use test equipmentammeter ohmmeter voltmeter test lamp meggerto pinpoint faults in wiring switches and motors.
- Replace defective switches receptacles and other electrical devices; remove/replace transformers and lighting fixtures.
- Execute all tasks per safety standards including strict lockout/tagout.
- Document issues and communicate status to production supervisors and maintenance leadership throughout the shift.
- Operate necessary shop and production equipment to complete assignments.
- Fabricate or repair parts with minor machining and welding (gas and electric) when needed.
- Independently support both mechanical and electrical systems during off-shifts.
- Develop broad operating knowledge of all production and facility service equipment.
What You Bring
- 5 years in industrial electrical maintenance with strong electro-mechanical expertise in automated environments.
- Two-year electrical degree or equivalent education preferred (not required).
- Effective English communication (read/write/speak).
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation and troubleshooting tools.
- Experience working with and guiding teams to successful outcomes.
- Training in lockout/tagout procedures.
Tools Systems and Tech
- Proficiencies: PLC troubleshooting equipment diagnostics 120/208/240/480V systems motor maintenance and replacement electrical troubleshooting industrial electrical work.
- Youll use: Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and conveyor systems.
