Position Overview:

Finning is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Power Systems team in Edmonton. This position will have a focus on operating the engine dyno and rebuilding large Caterpillar engines and components. The successful candidate will work a Monday to Friday shift and will report to our Power Systems Edmonton facility.

Location: Edmonton
Shifts: 5x2 Monday to Friday

Job Description:

  • Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
  • Interface with customers products and sales support
  • Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
  • Minimum 10 years experience as a Heavy-Duty Technician
  • Experience operating an engine dyno highly desired
  • Experience troubleshooting and repair large Caterpillar engines
  • Dedication to safety
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills both written and verbal
  • Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset Completion or be in the process of completing Finning S-level courses would also be considered an asset
  • Team player

  • A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol fitness testing) and wear a respiratorwhere applicable
