We are seeking someone to join us as a Student Accommodation Night Support (known internally as Night Supervisor) to join our team working rostered night shifts in our student residences. This vital role ensures our students feel safe supported and part of a positive community.
You will be the first point of contact for residents needing pastoral care or well-being support during the night. This isnt a traditional security role youll lead on health safety and security making sure protocols are followed emergencies are handled and first aid is provided when needed.
When not responding to incidents or patrolling youll be responsible for completing general administrative and coordination tasks.
Our Student accommodation team provides housing for over 4500 students across a variety of accommodation styles from first-year halls to self-catered apartments for senior students. We aim to create a safe supportive and enjoyable community that feels like home for our students.

Hours
This is a part-time permanent position.
The hours of work are 11:00pm to 7:00am. You will work an average of 30 35 hours per week. Shifts are rostered to alternate on a weekly basis and weekend work will be required.
Salary
The salary range for this role is $ $55000 to $69000 negotiable depending on skills and experience.
Training
We provide full training including first aid mental health event management and basic security. This paid training will take place during regular business hours before your night shifts begin.

Were looking for candidates who are empathetic passionate about student well-being and capable of handling challenging situations independently. While youll be working alone during shifts remote support from the team will be available.
This role is ideal for those night shifts to fit their lifestyle and weve found it to be a great fit for people with experience in pastoral care student-focused roles mental health services social work youth work residential care or hospitality or even those considering a career as a police officer.
E rapua ana mātou We are seeking
- Be available for night shifts across Monday to Sunday including Public Holidays.
- Ideally have experience providing pastoral care or support
- Possess strong communication skills able to guide and support others with a gentle non-enforcement approach
- Have some knowledge of security systems CRMs databases and Building Health & Safety compliance (training will be provided)
- Be physically fit (a medical test by our approved provider is required)
- This position required successful applicants to pass NZ police vetting checks and vulnerable childrens Act requirements
