TEACHING ASSISTANT (Fixed Term - Maternity Cover)

Term time only (38 weeks) 31.25 hours per week

Salary: Trust Band 2 24796 - 25185 per annum pro rata

Actual Salary: 17531 - 17806 per annum

Located in the heart of Portsmouth The Flying Bull Academy is a two form entry primary school with a vibrant Nursery and an alternative provision setting for children with SEMH needs. We are looking for new colleagues to join us; a great teaching assistant who is passionate about supporting learning while promoting childrens independence an enthusiastic team player with high expectations of childrens achievement and behaviour and a positive attitude. You will contribute to the childrens development including their speech and language learning physical and mental well-being by supporting the teaching and learning in the classroom under the direction and guidance of the Class teacher and/or SENCO. You will support children on aone-to-one or small group basis across a wide range of learning activities including the preparation and maintenance of resources. You will need to work in a relational way to ensure that positive behaviour is upheld and promoted. You will be willing to support pupils with medical and personal hygiene will ideally have experience of working with children in a primary age setting. You will have excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to communicate with a wide range of people including children their parent/carers and colleagues. You will be resilient and hard workingwith the ability to work on your own initiative while understanding the need to work as part of a cohesive team.
