Serves as the management assistant to the Senior Deputy Director of Legal Affairs Administration. Perform full range of complex and confidential administrative and executive support duties for the Senior Deputy Director to ensure that the goals objectives and mission of the agency are carried out.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Education typically acquired through completion of high school.

Experience
Four years of administrative and executive support experience equivalent to a Senior Executive Management Assistant 9 Secretary 9 or Legal Secretary 9; three years equivalent to an Executive Secretary E10 Legal Secretary 10 or Secretary Supervisor 10; or two years equivalent to a Senior Executive Management Assistant 11 Executive Secretary 11 or Secretary Supervisor 11.

Alternate Education and Experience

Possession of an associates degree in applied arts and sciences in an executive secretarial science curriculum may be substituted for one year as a Secretary 9.

Additional Requirements and Information

This position is open to all applicants.

This position is filled through a limited-term Senior Executive Service/ SEMA Agreement.

The physical location of this position is the Grand Tower Building 235 S. Grand Ave. Lansing MI. Based on operational needs and within established limits remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.

Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense including:

  • A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
  • A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
  • Suitable lighting furniture and utilities.

Certain positions may require a criminal history background check.
