About our team
The Sponsored Products Ranking Allocation and Velocity Engineering (RAVE) team owns and operates the sophisticated auction logic that determines which sponsored products millions of shoppers see every day directly impacting product discovery and the shopping experience across Amazons search results. We empower new Search experiences that help shoppers navigate our massive catalog and were responsible for maintaining critical metrics (ex: duplication rate) which define a positive shopping experience. We designs and builds large scale engineering systems which integrate ML LLM GenAI models to optimization the algorithms which rank allocation and price ads on Amazon search results pages. We maintain the Morales framework which supports and empowers hundreds of weblabs run yearly . And components process over 1 trillion ads daily operating at double-digit millisecond latency per request.

Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate for this role has strong experience in designing and developing scalable high-performance systems and services that are flexible reliable and maintainable. You have excellent problem-solving skills a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and a customer-focused mindset. You take pragmatic and iterative approach to building software: you have an ability to simplify and get things done with a demonstrated track record of building and delivering software and working effectively with external and internal teams. You will build services to handle billions of requests per day while maintaining response latencies in the milliseconds and meeting strict SLA requirements. Our systems and algorithms operate on one of the worlds largest product catalogs and it is quite routine for our systems to operate on massive datasets using distributed frameworks.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience building large-scale machine learning and AI solutions at Internet scale

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience in e-commerce retail or advertising

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
