Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- Valid Florida license as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- One (1) year of direct experience.
Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills.
- Knowledge of pertinent regulations policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA Public Records Sunshine Law FERPA and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy public information and records retention.
- Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment materials practices computers and applications.
- Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct therapy to students following a plan of care and protocol developed by the supervising SLP.
- Document student performance (e.g. tallying data for the SLP to use; preparing charts records and graphs) and report this information to the supervising SLP.
- Prepare therapy materials according to the plan of care.
- Adhere to a daily schedule developed with the supervising SLP.
- Assist the SLP with speech language and hearing screenings without clinical interpretation.
- Follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP.
- Program and provide instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices.
- Assist with clerical duties such as preparing materials and scheduling activities as directed by the SLP.
- Perform Medicaid administrative claims reimbursable activities as directed in accordance with Chapter 3 of the federally approved School District Administrative Claiming (SDAC) Guide.
- Maintain current licensure and certifications.
