BASIC FUNCTION : Under the direction of an Administrator or designee assist in the operation of a child care center for children; assist with providing a high quality child development program. Please visit the class specification to review representative duties minimum qualifications desired qualifications and other requirements of this position.
Required Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Any combination equivalent to: sufficient course work to qualify for a Child Development Associate Permit including at least twelve core units in Early Childhood Education or equivalent courses and one year of experience in a child development program. (Permit must be applied for within 30 days of the hire date) LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS : Child Development Associate Permit or equivalent Appropriate First Aid and AED certificates California Child Care Provider Health and Safety Certificate (to be obtained within 30 working days from date of hire) Drivers license and/or ability to provide own transportation to and from assigned sites Pre-employment Requirements 1. Education Code 87408.6 states that no person shall be initially employed by a community college district in an academic or classified position unless the person has submitted to an examination within the past sixty (60) days to determine that he/she/they is free of active tuberculosis. 2. As a condition of employment the position you are applying for will require that you provide fingerprints to the local police department. The fees charged by the Department of Justice ( DOJ ) and FBI for the fingerprint report is the employees responsibility. Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employees first day on the job. Sponsorship The District does not provide sponsorship for authorization to work in the United States. Work authorization should be established at the time of application submission.
