DescriptionPosition Summary:
We are seeking a strategic highly organized Chief of Staff to support the COO in driving operational excellence across the field organization. This role is pivotal in managing the rhythm of the business leading cross-functional initiatives and ensuring seamless execution of strategic priorities. The Chief of Staff will act as a trusted advisor thought partner and operational leader standardizing solution delivery and leading the Center of Operations Excellencea repository of operational expertise and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Execution:
- Support the COO in executing high-level strategic goals and priorities from initiation through delivery.
- Serve as a liaison between the COO and operational units to ensure alignment and effective strategy execution.
- Lead and drive special projects and cross-functional programs from concept to execution that impacts field operations.
- Develop frameworks and narratives to support strategic planning and communication.
- Business Rhythm & Execution
- Own and optimize Procurement operating cadence including revenue management forecasting and planning cycles.
- Conduct regular business health reviews and lead cross-functional efforts.
- Ensure alignment across teams and timely execution of key deliverables.
- Track and report progress on strategic initiatives and operational KPIs.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Analyze workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Monitor and measure the impact of process improvements leveraging Fortive Business Systems (FBS).
- Conduct staffing utilization reviews with the COO VPs and HR Business Partner.
Center of Operations Excellence Leadership
- Lead the Center of Operations Excellence as the central hub for operational expertise.
- Capture and document knowledge into training materials and operational documentation.
- Develop and deliver training programs on Gordians procurement solutions and values.
- Ensure adherence to processes and standard work across teams.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Document and maintain standard work and operational procedures.
- Standardize solution delivery to ensure a consistent and high-quality customer experience.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration Finance or related field (Masters preferred).
- Experience: 8 years in operations strategy consulting or similar roles with 5 years in senior leadership.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean Six Sigma).
- Proven track record in managing complex projects and driving outcomes.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence without authority and build cross-functional relationships.
- Experience working with executive leadership and handling confidential information.
- Familiarity with analytics and data-driven decision-making (preferred).
