The OCM Field Technician is responsible for collecting samples conducting observations and performing inspections of products or raw materials for laboratory analysis. This role operates under direct supervision and plays a key part in supporting quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect samples of products and raw materials being transferred to containers vessels barges trucks and/or railcars.
- Label all samples and related paperwork accurately including identifying data location date and time of collection.
- Deliver collected samples to the laboratory for analysis.
- Prepare and process samples including reduction and division to appropriate sizes.
- Conduct sampling at specified processing stages locations and time intervals.
- Perform sample screening and physical testing as required.
- Ensure all equipment and containers are cleaned and properly organized before and after use.
- Consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for all tasks.
- Comply with all local and federal safety procedures and protocols.
- May perform additional preparation or laboratory duties based on business needs.
- Follow internal standards policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Diploma or equivalent education
- A valid and current drivers license may be required if driving a company vehicle
- Effective verbal and written communication in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel) Preferred
- Lifting / Carrying / Pushing / Pulling: Frequently up to 50 lbs
Additional Information :
- Flexibility to work on-call shifts including weekends and holidays is required.
- Local day travel required; occasional overnight travel possible
