About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant with strong expertise in IBM RPG (Report Program Generator) and to support our migration initiative. The consultant will play a key role in assessing designing and executing the migration of legacy RPG-based business logic to modern JavaScript-based frameworks while ensuring system reliability performance and maintainability.

What Youll Be Doing

• Analyze existing RPG programs and AS/400 (IBM i) application logic to understand business processes and technical dependencies.
• Design and implement equivalent solutions using ensuring parity in functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with architects to define and present migration strategies coding standards and best practices.
• Support the refactoring of RPG code into modular scalable and API-driven architectures.
• Assist in developing tools scripts or automation to streamline migration and testing.
• Provide documentation technical guidance and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during migration and post-migration phases.
• Work independently and take ownership of assigned deliverables throughout the migration lifecycle.

What We Are Looking For

• 5 years of experience in RPG (ILE Free-form or legacy) development on IBM i / AS400 platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with and modern JavaScript (ES6).
• Proven experience in modernization or migration projects preferably RPG to open-source or cloud-native technologies.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs microservices and database integration (SQL).
• Experience in RPG to migration tools would be an advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a cross-functional global environment.
