The Design Engineer will apply engineering processes design criteria and software applications to design and construct power-related systems. This role supports estimate preparation develops design options and prepares construction specifications. The ideal candidate will have 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelors degree in engineering.

Responsibilities:
- Apply engineering processes and design criteria to the development of power-related systems.
- Support estimate preparation develop design options and prepare construction specifications.
- Provide guidance oversight and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions cost estimates and construction packages.
- Create a safe work environment by putting safety first.
- Understand the processes used for planning design operation construction and maintenance.
- Gain an understanding of the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design construction and maintenance.
- Understand design practices and work processes.
- Use all software applications utilized in design.
- Understand industry design standards.
- Support design standard and criteria development for the system.
- Support construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations.
- Estimate material requirements for projects.
- Transmit construction packages and support specifications.

- Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff design engineering staff and/or vendors
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans intermediate to advanced proficiency
- MS Office intermediate proficiency
- Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
- Bachelors degree in Engineering with ABET Accreditation
