Salary Range: $141444 $146784 Annually
At the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) our mission is to improve public safety by positively changing lives. A strong and strategic financial foundation is essential to this work and were seeking a dedicated public servant to join our budget team as the Assistant Budget Director.
In this key leadership role you will oversee agency-wide budget analysis development and monitoring of DOCs operating budget. Youll lead recurring budget processes and projects set timelines direct work and ensure accurate timely financial data is available to support executive decision-making.
This position ensures compliance with the legislative budget guides fiscal and program planning and assists with the preparation and execution of the agencys operating budget including the development of decision packages in accordance with Office of Financial Management (OFM) requirements.
The successful candidate will coordinate and oversee key budget activities such as reporting for Executive and Senior Leadership chart of accounts management compensation modeling global adjustments and systems oversight. Collaboration with Budget Office leadership Accounting Services and other fiscal staff is essential to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective resource management.

This position may be allocated for telework. Work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time. Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner to take proper care all state-issued equipment and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite. Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires to potentially include components of the onboarding process. Some offices will have a drop in area available however a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
