The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Bench Assembly Technician to join our team. The Technician will work within a team environment and be responsible for the operation of miscellaneous processes supporting aftermarket repair and manufacturing. This position is for afternoons 2:30 PM - 11 PM.

Additionally the Technician will:

  1. Disassemble non-conforming parts from production in order to repair reassemble or prep them for the production team.
  2. Be responsible for setting up and operating manufacturing process equipment (heat treat ovens precision cleaning broaching polishing and gear checking machines).
  3. Remove burrs sharp edges tool marks and other irregularities from machined parts to ensure they are in accordance with engineering blueprints and tolerance requirements.
  4. Inspect and/or test related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications.
  5. Uses a variety of hand tools shears grinders drills saws tube bending and flaring equipment pipe threading and other items to be used in assembly.
  6. Completes soldering brazing and other bonding techniques.
  7. Cleans organizes and maintains cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards.
  8. Strives to accomplish team goals and enhance the quality of parts through the reduction of scrap and improvement of throughput.
  9. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED required
  • Proficient in production-level metal finishing and repair processes with 12 years of practical hands-on experience.
  • Must be able to read understand and correctly interpret basic blueprint drawings and follow planning instructions.
  • Attention to detail ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to use common measuring equipment such as micrometers calipers gauges (pin thread indicator height) optical comparators etc.
  • Ability to work afternoons (2:30 PM -11 PM)
    • Training on 1st shift
  • Physical lifting requirements include; ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches) capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds a grip strength of at least 50 pounds and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches).
  • US. Citizenship status required.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance if needed.
