Job Summary

Role Overview

As a Vertical Transportation Specialist at Ramboll you will play a key role in the design and delivery of Vertical Transportation and People Movement strategies from the competition and concept stages through IFC and practical completion post-installation. You will be responsible for the design specification and integration of elevators escalators and moving walkways across a range of residential commercial and industrial projects. This role requires strong technical expertise adherence to safety standards and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects contractors and clients.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop vertical transportation systems such as elevators escalators lifts and moving walkways tailored to project requirements.

  • Prepare detailed technical drawings specifications and calculations for vertical transport equipment.

  • Conduct feasibility studies and site surveys to determine optimal vertical transport solutions.

  • Collaborate with architects structural engineers and MEP teams to integrate vertical transport systems into building designs.

  • Ensure compliance with local national and international codes and safety standards.

  • Analyze and troubleshoot technical issues related to vertical transportation systems.

  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and innovations to enhance performance and safety.

  • Prepare cost estimates budgets and project schedules for vertical transport systems.

  • Provide technical support and training to clients contractors and maintenance teams.

  • Stay current with industry trends regulations and best practices.

  • Conduct people flow simulations in buildings using Elevate or equivalent software.

  • Study and understand human behavior in both normal and emergency building conditions.

  • Coordinate with major lift and escalator suppliers to understand products and bespoke solutions.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders on accessibility fire evacuation and goods movement strategies.

  • Contribute to dimensional planning of building cores.

  • Review technical drawings and provide feedback.


Qualifications :

Qualifications;

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical Civil Engineering or a related field.
6 to 9 years of proven experience in the design and implementation of vertical transportation systems.
Strong knowledge of elevator and escalator codes and standards (e.g. ASME A17.1 EN 81).
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Revit etc.) and engineering design tools.
Excellent problem-solving analytical and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
Relevant certifications in vertical transport or elevator engineering are advantageou
