At the Department of Finance and Treasury Board we strive to provide financial leadership analysis and policies that strengthen Nova Scotia. As stewards of the provinces financial affairs we deliver a wide range of corporate fiscal and management services including the preparation of the provincial budget as well as ensure government plans are coordinated and fiscally responsible.

The Capital Markets Administration and Compliance (CMAC) division is responsible for the accounting debt servicing trade settlement reporting and custody of governments market debt and investments while monitoring compliance with legislation and policies. The division provides professional advice recommendations and coordination of policies and guidelines related to debt management addition the division reconciles government bank accounts monitors and reports on governments internal financial controls manages governance specific software solutions and corporate compliance programs.
The Capital Markets Officer reportsto the Coordinator of Debt Servicing and Contractual Obligations within the CMAC division. Under the Coordinators supervision you will beaccountable for the accounting reconciliation year end audit requirements and reporting activities for short term investments short term debt debt servicing costs Trust Funds Special Purpose Funds (SPF) unclaimed trusts and unclaimed estates.
As the Capital Markets Officer your responsibilities also include trade settlement activities with the Provinces Custodian as well as payment/receipt activities related to debt servicing costs Trust Funds SPFs unclaimed trusts and unclaimed addition you will provide advice and recommendations to management based on financial analysis and the application of accepted accounting principles and standards.
This may be the right opportunity for you if you have three (3)years post-secondary professional accounting trainingand five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.

Pay Grade: TE 22
Salary Range: $2189.32- $2574.66Bi-Weekly
