Job Summary:
The Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:
- Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
- Determining the priority of the patients problems and needs
- Implementing clinical nursing interventions to acute critical patients that require intensive medical care
- Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
- Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment
Essential Functions:
- In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment and safely demonstrates basic knowledge of the contemporary nursing practice
- Provides episodic (outpatient) and inpatient (at designated units) pediatric nursing care where applicable
- Applies knowledge of contemporary Pediatric nursing practice and future innovations
- Utilizes nursing practice to the care of pediatric patients that require nursing assessment and interdisciplinary team interventions
- Evaluates updates and revises plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
- Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organizations policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
- Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred not required)
Certifications:
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- BLS Basic Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care PALS required within 6 months of hire based on departmental requirements)
Experience:
- One (1) year of professional experience practicing as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Recent Medical/Surgical NICU Pediatric OB ED or critical care experience (preferred not required)
Training:
- EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred not required)
