Marathon Petroleum Company is seeking a Security Specialist to join our team of dedicated professionals safeguarding one of the nations leading energy enterprises. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage Physical Security: Oversee security operations for corporate offices including access control surveillance systems and emergency response planning.

  • Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify vulnerabilities evaluate threats and implement mitigation strategies to protect people and assets.

  • Deliver Security Training: Develop and lead awareness programs to educate employees on safety protocols and incident prevention.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with business units HR and leadership to align security practices with organizational goals.

  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements and internal security policies.

  • Support Investigations: Assist with fact-finding and incident reviews applying investigative best practices.

  • Perform other duties asassigned.

  • Travel up to 35%.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in law enforcement military or security field

  • A valid drivers license is required for the role/must pass a motor vehicle record check.

SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of the practices associated with the protection of property and individuals.

  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the risk assessment process.

  • Displays in-depth knowledge of security incident prevention strategies and management.

  • Fully competent in major security regulatory compliance programs.

  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of investigative interviewing and fact-finding processes; conceptually understands Code of Conduct investigation processes.

  • Strong problem solving and analyticalskill

  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy appropriate to thesituation

  • Ability to maintain effective work relationships with all levels ofcolleagues

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint)

*This position belongs to a job progression with increasing responsibility competency and skill level. Final position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidates experience and qualifications.
