Requisition Justification NG911 Cyber Security Tools Implementation Engineer (SME)

This request is for an NG911 Cyber Security Tools Implementation Engineer (Subject Matter Expert) to support the continued execution of the Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911) Class 1 Class 2 Class 3 and Call Handling system upgrades. The role is critical to ensuring the security availability and integrity of mission-critical public safety systems during configuration integration testing and deployment phases.

The selected SME will provide hands-on cybersecurity engineering expertise across enterprise data center and public safety environments with responsibility for implementing integrating and securing DNS Email and Remote Access solutions as well as supporting application development and database administration teams. This role will test and validate Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) platforms DMZ architectures perimeter security controls and host-based security for operating systems and applications including LDAP and SMTP.

The engineer will lead security architecture implementation risk mitigation and threat monitoring including integration and tuning of IBM QRadar SIEM with Cascade FireMon Citrix and other critical security technologies. Responsibilities include log onboarding correlation rule development security event monitoring and incident support to ensure continuous protection against evolving cyber threats.

This position requires extensive experience in enterprise network and security infrastructure public safety systems DMZ design firewall and perimeter security and DNS migration along with demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks standards and best practices. A CISSP or equivalent cybersecurity certification is required to ensure adherence to industry-recognized security principles.

Due to the mission-critical nature of NG911 emergency communications on-site support is required to perform hands-on implementation testing troubleshooting and coordination with internal teams vendors and system integrators. This SME is essential to maintaining secure resilient and compliant NG911 operations minimizing risk and ensuring uninterrupted emergency services for the public.
