Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to join a global team responsible for critical Oracle infrastructure that powers games like World of Warcraft and Hearthstone as well as other systems in our environment. This role will focus on operational excellence of our Oracle database platforms including Exadata ZDLRA and cloud-based deployments.

You will join a team of senior database engineers who collaborate with game development teams to ensure high performance and availability and assist in our transition from on-prem infrastructure to Oracle Exadata in the Cloud.

Key Responsibilities:

• Exadata & ZDLRA: Administer and tune Exadata and ZDLRA platforms ensuring uptime and efficiency
• Cloud Integration: Assist in Exadata Cloud Service (Azure OCI AWS Alibaba) deployments ensuring scalability and efficiency
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and enhance database performance leveraging Oracle best practices.
• Disaster Recovery & Security: Maintain robust backup and recovery solutions using ZDLRA and RMAN ensuring data integrity and compliance.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams including infrastructure security and application/game development to support business needs.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements for database management.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: 5 years in Oracle database engineering
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of Oracle Exadata ZDLRA RAC Pluggable databases OEM Golden Gate and Data Guard.
• Communication: Strong ability to engage with stakeholders across different time zones. Report on metrics incidents and service levels to leadership.

These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately your specific range and offer will be based on several factors including relevant experience performance and work location.
