This well-established independent day and boarding school in Bristol is home to around 1000 pupils aged 1118 and is celebrated for its academic excellence and pastoral strength. Rated as one of the top co-educational independent schools in the South West the school achieved 87% grades 97 at GCSE and 72% AB at A-Level in 2024.
The Psychology Department consisting of four specialist teachers has built an outstanding reputation for results innovation and student engagement. Psychology remains one of the most popular A-Level subjects with consistently high outcomes in 2024 78% of students achieved AB and nearly half of all students went on to study Psychology Neuroscience or Social Sciences at university.
The department benefits from dedicated classrooms access to data analysis and cognitive testing software and partnerships with local universities for guest lectures and student research projects. Students also participate in annual Psychology conferences inter-school debates and fieldwork opportunities exploring topics such as perception cognition and mental health.
Requirements
Applications are welcome from teachers at any stage of their career including ECTs. Both UK-trained and overseas-qualified Psychology Teachers will be considered. All applicants should hold QTS or an equivalent secondary school teaching qualification.
Salary
The salary for this Psychology Teacher position will be paid to scale on a direct contract (MPS/UPS) in line with the schools generous independent school pay structure. A TLR may be available for the right candidate.
