Job Summary

Responsibilities:

Plan and coordinate the daily activities of the farm including feeding schedules cleaning and maintenance.
Oversee and manage all aspects of poultry production including breeding and management of layer flocks.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize farm efficiency and biosecurity.
Hire train and supervise farm workers ensuring they follow all farm protocols and safety procedures.
Oversee the care and management of poultry including feeding watering monitoring birds health and addressing any potential disease outbreaks or biosecurity risks.
Monitor the growth rates feed conversion ratios and overall health of the flock.
Ensure proper vaccination and medication schedules are followed.
Hire train and supervise farm workers ensuring they follow all farm protocols and safety procedures.
Develop work schedules assign tasks and monitor the performance of farm staff.
Conduct regular team meetings to address issues provide training and ensure effective communication.
Analyze production costs and implement strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of farm facilities equipment and processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Veterinary science Animal Science or any other related field
5-7 years experience with extensive 3 years of experience in chick brooding egg production and other poultry-related fields
Must have worked and have in depth understanding of EC houses
Problem-solving orientated logical and Sophisticated reasoning
Ability to budget and maintain accurate financial records and also able to work and produce results within a stipulated time
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as necessary.
