As a Pest Control Assistant you will provide pest control on turf and ornamentals in all areas maintained by Westgate. Will also assist in other areas of grounds maintenance when spraying is not been done. Mix or apply pesticides fungicides or insecticides through sprays dusts vapors soil incorporation or chemical application on trees shrubs lawns or botanical crops.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Maintain good healthy turf and ornamentals by spraying unwanted pests.
- Spray turf and ornamentals with herbicides insecticides and fungicides using several different methods including but not limited to; boom spraying flood jet wand and drench spraying.
- Fill sprayer tanks with water and chemicals according to formula.
- Mix pesticides herbicides and fungicides for application to trees shrubs lawns or botanical crops.
- Cover areas to specified depths with pesticides applying knowledge of weather conditions droplet sizes elevation-to-distance ratios and obstructions.
- Lift push and swing nozzles hoses and tubes in order to direct spray over designated areas.
- Will be working around all types of ground maintenance equipment including blowers and mowers.
- Other assignments may be assigned.
Qualifications :
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - One to two year related experience and/or training. Commercial pesticide license required.
- Commercial pesticide license required .
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
