Job Summary
A leading international law firm is seeking a legal professional with 3-5 years PQE/proven experience in risk and regulatory compliance ideally across Asia-Pacific. The role supports the Regional Head of Risk & Compliance and helps deliver consistent high-quality compliance solutions across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive guidance on risk and compliance matters to partners and staff reflecting the firms values.
- Collaborate with UK-based team members to ensure strategic alignment and consistent advice.
- Ensure compliance with law society rules firm policies and guidelines.
- Advise on client supplier and secondment terms.
- Manage AML sanctions conflicts and financial crime escalations efficiently.
- Conduct research and contribute to regional or firm-wide risk projects.
- Build strong relationships with partners and present in meetings as needed.
- Identify and address knowledge gaps in risk and compliance.
- Support rollout of new initiatives and tech solutions aligned with regulatory changes.
- Work closely with business services to embed risk management into operations.
- Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments and implement timely changes.
Key Qualifications:
- Legal professional with 3-5 years PQE/proven experience in an international law firm
- Familiarity with professional bar rules
- Experience with Intapp and centralized compliance teams
- Strong communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills
- Organized analytical and detail-oriented
- Fluent in English; Mandarin or Japanese is a plus
- Experience with multi-jurisdictional projects preferred
