Van-Am Tool & Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Paint Production Supervisor to oversee our Paint & Powder Coat Operation on both day and night shifts. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient production processes maintaining high-quality standards and leading a team to achieve performance goals. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial finishing team leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities for the Paint & Powder Coat Operation on both day and night shifts.
- Ensure quality standards are met for painted and powder-coated products.
- Monitor workflow adjust staffing as needed and troubleshoot production issues.
- Train coach and evaluate team members to maximize performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Maintain and enforce compliance with company policies safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet production schedules and customer expectations.
- Track production metrics report performance data and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure proper maintenance and operation of painting and powder coating equipment.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate or bachelors degree in a related field is a plus.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or finishing environment.
- Strong background in paint and powder coating operations.
- Experience with production scheduling quality control and process improvement.
Skills
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial paint and powder coating applications.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management software.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand walk and move throughout the production facility for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Exposure to paint fumes powder coating materials and varying temperatures.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing facility with day and night shifts.
- Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail and adaptability.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required in designated areas.
