Job Summary

Van-Am Tool & Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Paint Production Supervisor to oversee our Paint & Powder Coat Operation on both day and night shifts. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient production processes maintaining high-quality standards and leading a team to achieve performance goals. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial finishing team leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities for the Paint & Powder Coat Operation on both day and night shifts.
  • Ensure quality standards are met for painted and powder-coated products.
  • Monitor workflow adjust staffing as needed and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Train coach and evaluate team members to maximize performance and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Maintain and enforce compliance with company policies safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet production schedules and customer expectations.
  • Track production metrics report performance data and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and operation of painting and powder coating equipment.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or bachelors degree in a related field is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or finishing environment.
  • Strong background in paint and powder coating operations.
  • Experience with production scheduling quality control and process improvement.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial paint and powder coating applications.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management software.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand walk and move throughout the production facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Exposure to paint fumes powder coating materials and varying temperatures.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility with day and night shifts.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail and adaptability.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) required in designated areas.
