Job Summary

This position is a temporary vacancy covering for a leave. The position is expected to end on 01/02/2026 when the current employee returns to work. At that time the covering employee will be terminated from the position.

Title: Director of Instruction Henderson K-12 Inclusion School

Reports to: Head of School

The Director of Instruction will direct support coordinate and supervise all aspects of curriculum and instruction in the school to meet system wide goals and to improve student achievement. He/she will use and help to implement high impact practices to set the bar for academic excellence in the school. He/she will assist with the supervision of teachers including regularly and systematically observing instruction and advising teachers on instructional methods reviewing teachers student learning and professional practice goals and action plans; advises the principal on the diagnosis of teaching performance including the preparation of prescriptions for the improvement of performance and coordinating and monitoring professional development of teachers. He/she will also serve as a coach to teachers to help develop teaching practice.

Reports to: Principal

Position and Duties:

The Employees duties shall consist of:

  • Serving as a member of the Admin Team ensuring that the academic instructional and college preparation plans are tied to the needs of the students and the school;
  • Providing exemplary leadership to all members of the schools community to achieve outstanding performance in the schools mission of preparing each student for college;
  • Collaborating with Community Field Coordinator to support student behavior;
  • Collaborating in facilitating the ark of learning for the Instructional Leadership Team;
  • Working with the Principal and Admin Team to evaluate all academic programing;
  • Maintaining a laser-focus on the instructional priorities of the school;
  • Collaborate in designing a professional development vision around students sense of belonging and academic rigor;
  • Supporting the teacher and paraprofessional evaluation process;
  • Assisting in the development of the annual budget including staffing needs instructional materials and resources assessment and professional development; and
  • Other such duties as the Principal may from time to time request commensurate with the Employees position.

Availability and Outside Employment:

During the Contract Term the Employee must be available to work during the entire period of the long term substitute assignment. The Employee is expected to be at the School for the entire school day including reasonable time before and after school and to participate in other non-classroom duties activities and meetings as required.

Qualifications Required:

  • Masters Degree
  • Three (3) years teaching experience
  • MAssachusetts license Principal/Assistant Principal at the appropriate grade level or Supervisor/Director license
  • SEI Endorsement
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment

Preferred:

  • Bilingual candidate
  • ESL license
  • Serve as a contributing member of the administrative team and serve on assigned committees.
  • Experience conducting formal and informal observations and supervision of staff.
  • Leads aligns and coordinates instructional programming including curriculum instruction assessment and professional development
  • Align grading and assessment practices that support learning for all students
