Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support the Shipping Clerks team ensuring effective communication balanced workloads and compliance with daily shipping plans.

Oversee and manage freight bookings through Transporeon securing competitive rates while maintaining high levels of carrier reliability and service quality.

Coordinate outbound shipments across multiple markets ensuring timely pickups and deliveries by collaborating with carriers customers and internal departments.

Track and evaluate carrier performance metrics (on-time pickup/delivery detention cost per load) and address service issues proactively.

Analyze freight rate trends and market dynamics providing recommendations to management for ongoing cost and efficiency improvements.

Build and maintain strategic relationships with carriers and brokers to ensure dependable capacity and competitive pricing.

Contribute to the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics function.

Serve as a backup resource for other logistics and shipping roles to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in shipping transportation or logistics operations (manufacturing or distribution environment preferred).

Strong proficiency in Transporeon SAP (EWM or S/4HANA) and Microsoft Office applications.

Demonstrated ability to lead mentor and develop team members in a high-volume logistics setting.

Excellent communication analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on teamwork and customer service.

Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to make quick data-driven decisions under tight deadlines.

Working knowledge of freight optimization carrier management and transportation compliance best practices.
