Position: Food Service Worker
Reports To: Food Service Director
Work Year Days: FY26 School Calendar
Work Hours: 7:30a-1pm
Educational/Training/Experience/License Required: Highschool Diploma or GED ServSafe
Accountability Objective: Prepares and serves foods according to the menu cycle standardized recipes production records and directions provided by the Lead Cook and or Food Service Director.
Responsibilities:- Stages advance preparation of dry foods and supplies.
- Ensures that proper time and temperatures are documented.
- Marks changes as necessary on the posted menu cycle.
- Reports any issues to the Cook/Supervisor and or Food Service Director.
- Cleans and sanitizes transport containers trays utensils etc.
- Maintains kitchen and transport equipment in a clean and sanitary manner.
- Reports any equipment needs or issues to the Food Service Director.
- Presents food in an appealing manner according to the Food Presentation Policy.
- Serves students and staff in a friendly courteous and efficient manner.
- Follows posted Sanitation Schedule and ensures a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Other responsibilities as requested by the Cook/Supervisor and or Food Service Director.
Required Qualifications:- Knowledge of basic food service sanitation and proper food handling.
- Ability to use industrial equipment and knowledge of basic equipment maintenance.
- Effective oral communications with management associates and client staff. Excellent customer service skills are required.
- Ability to use proper judgment and to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to accept direction and adhere to operating and safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to stand up to 8 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift and push/pull up to 50 pounds.
- Understanding of MSDS and ability to properly use and maintain chemicals.
- Ability to work within deadlines.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Prior food service and/or customer service experience is preferred.
- Requires a basic knowledge of sanitation and food handling.
- Must pass pre-employment background and CORI check.
SALARY: $16.80 an hour
