Position:Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Reports To: Executive Director of Student Support Services
Work Year: 10-month (School Year Calendar)
Non-Exempt Non-Affiliated Support Staff
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plans and provides direct behavioral support services to students under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and in collaboration with teachers support staff and administrators. The RBT implements behavior intervention plans collects data and assists in promoting positive student behavior to support academic and social-emotional success within the least restrictive environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) developed by the BCBA or behavior specialist.
- Provide direct individual and small group behavioral support to students in classroom and school settings.
- Collect accurate data on student behavior progress and interventions using district-approved documentation systems.
- Support teachers in embedding proactive and positive behavioral support within the instructional setting.
- Assist with conducting preference assessments functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and skill acquisition programs.
- Model and reinforce positive behavioral strategies for students and staff.
- Participate in student support team meetings as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism consistent with FERPA and district policy.
- Follow all ethical standards outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Comfortable with a significant travel and relocation as a core function of the role.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Student Services or designee
Qualifications:
**Required:**
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Demonstrated experience working with children or adolescents in educational or behavioral settings.
- Ability to collect and interpret behavioral data accurately.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students staff and families.
**Preferred:**
- Associates or Bachelors degree in psychology education applied behavior analysis or a related field.
- Experience working in a public school special education setting or in an ABA Therapy setting.
- Training in crisis prevention/intervention (e.g. CPI Safety-Care).
Work Environment:
Position involves working in general education and special education classrooms as well as small-group and individualized settings. May involve implementation of Crisis Prevention Intervention Strategies following district-approved safety procedures. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
