Job Summary

Minimum Requirements

An appropriate post graduate qualification in Economics Social Sciences Public Policy Law Planning Built environment or related field ; A minimum of 6 years experience within a research environment and/or a policy development environment.

Competencies

Knowledge of the following: Latest advances in public management theory and practice; Public policy analysis and public policy development processes; Strategy development strategy management and strategy monitoring and review processes; Latest trends in public sector innovation and innovative methodologies; Modern systems of governance and administration; Global regional and local political economic and social affairs impacting on the provincial government of the Western Cape; Constitutional legal and institutional arrangements governing the South Africa public sector; Inter-governmental and international relations; National provincial and strategies NDP MTDP PSP IDPs.

Skills needed: Computer literacy in MS Office Package (Word Excel PowerPoint); Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Communication skills (written and vertbal); Strong conceptual and formulation; Strong leadership skills with specific reference to ability to display leadership in complex applications; Strong written and verbal communication; Team building and strong inter-personal; Outstanding planning organising and people management; Excellent presentation public speaking and facilitation skills at senior management level; Strong project management skills and must be detail orientated; The ability to lead and direct teams of professionals and service providers.
