Position Summary
The Director of Cardiovascular Services at Childrens Minnesota is responsible for directing patient care services and coordinating operational management of the comprehensive Pediatric Cardiovascular Program including the Pediatric Heart Failure & Heart Transplant program ventricular assist devices CV operating room cardiac catheterization program cardiac post-anesthesia recovery unit ECMO and perfusion services. The Director will also play a leading role in the operations of the cardiovascular inpatient units in collaboration with the Director of Critical Care.
This position has accountability for planning leadership development organizing and directing cardiovascular patient care services and ensuring high-quality cost-effective patient care through Childrens continuous improvement system. The Director is also responsible for interdisciplinary collaboration employee engagement and patient and family experience. The position reports to the Vice President Clinical Services.
License/Certification/Registration:
*Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Minnesota or eligible for licensure required
Education:
*Bachelors degree or higher in nursing required
*Masters degree in healthcare administration business administration nursing public health or related field preferred
Required Experience:
*Seven (7) years of experience in the healthcare field
*Three (3) years of progressive leadership experience
Preferred Experience:
*Pediatric cardiovascular services experience
*Magnet program experience
*Previous managerial and/or operational experience in a solid organ transplant program
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Possesses strong human relations skills and problem-solving skills in order to influence all levels of the organization toward regulatory and accreditation compliance. Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. Works collaboratively and is self-motivated. Knowledge of health care as a process/system including continuous improvement principles. Has knowledge methods and skills needed to effectuate change to understand and value the perspectives and responsibilities of others and the capacity to mentor others. Has experience with designing care delivery and service excellence strategies.
The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary this position may be eligible for medical dental vision retirement and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
