Job Summary:
The NPI (New Product Introduction) Sourcing Manager plays a critical role in bridging R&D and Supply Chain functions to ensure seamless sourcing support throughout the product development lifecycle. This role is responsible for identifying negotiating and managing suppliers and external manufacturing partners (Contract Manufacturing OrganizationCMOs/ Contract Development Manufacturing OrganizationCDMOs) to support development programs from concept through commercial launch.
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
Partner with R&D and cross-functional teams to understand program requirements and sourcing needs.
Identify and qualify suppliers for components materials and services required during development.
Lead supplier selection RFQ/RFP processes and contract negotiations.
Establish and manage relationships with CMOs/CDMOs acting as an External Manufacturing (ExM) Manager.
Supplier Management & Execution Excellence
Own end-to-end supplier management for development programs ensuring vendors are aligned with project requirements and timelines.
Proactively resolve sourcing and supply challenges driving accountability and performance across the supply base.
Ensure suppliers deliver high-quality cost-competitive solutions on time in full and in adherence to program milestones.
Act as the primary liaison with CMOs/CDMOs managing relationships and execution as an External Manufacturing (ExM) lead.
Champion supplier readiness and scalability to support successful product launches.
Program Support & Execution
Provide end-to-end sourcing support for development projects ensuring alignment with program timelines and technical requirements.
Collaborate with Engineering Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure supplier compliance and readiness.
Support early-stage prototyping pilot builds and scale-up activities.
Cost & Risk Management
Drive cost optimization strategies while balancing quality and delivery requirements.
Assess and mitigate supply risks including capacity lead time and regulatory constraints.
Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as the sourcing point of contact for NPI programs facilitating communication between R&D Operations and suppliers.
Support design-for-supply initiatives to ensure manufacturability and scalability.
Contribute to stage-gate reviews and provide sourcing updates to program leadership.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
5 years of experience in strategic sourcing preferably in a regulated industry (e.g. medical devices biotech pharma).
Proven experience managing CMOs/CDMOs and supporting NPI or product development programs.
Manufacturing and/or R&D experience strongly preferred.
Strong negotiation project management and supplier relationship skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced cross-functional environment with a high degree of autonomy.
Ability to work with senior-level stakeholders (internally and externally).
Experience:
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
knowledge of the medical device industry and regulatory environment.
Proven track record of new product development support.
Experience with global manufacturing and supplier management.
Familiarity with international regulatory requirements and market trends.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation the starting base payfor this role is between$120000.00 - $145000.00 annually. Theactual base payincludes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
