Responsibilities for Mental Health Director:

• Coordinate lead and participate in educational and training activities related to mental health care for patients
• Evaluate patients in a variety of settings
• Perform and document mental health evaluations
• Facilitate patient treatment to include admission and discharge from the mental health unit housing change requests seclusion suicide precautions close observation and observation level changes
• DSM-V
• Coach and collaborate with site mental health clinical staff
• Ensure all mental health clinicians are educated
• Work cooperatively with all psychiatric providers
• Assist with recruiting efforts for mental health staff

Qualifications for Mental Health Director:

• Masters prepared candidate with a current unrestricted PsyD or PhD license in Arizona
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a mental health care setting
• Minimum of 2 years experience in management and correctional healthcare preferred
• Knowledge and experience in the identification and treatment of mental health and co-occurring substance abuse disorders discharge planning principles of social work basic principles of individual and group behavior suicide risk assessment crisis de-escalation techniques
• Working knowledge of psychotropic medications
• Valid CPR card (AHA or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare)
