About You and this Role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Planner in Freeport Texas.

Creates job plans and packages from the work order scope which contains all of the information regarding required labor material and services to ensure safe effective and efficient execution of the work. Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans jobs following the Global Maintenance Work Process (GMWP).
• Uses feedback from the person doing the work to optimize the work plans.
• Reviews work orders for technical completeness and returns work orders to gatekeeper if not complete.
• Carries out field checks when needed.
• Prepares job package and inputs plan into SAP indicating the required resources materials and services.
• Identifies task activities necessary to execute job scope and identifies materials/tools/equipment required to perform tasks and identifies resource requirements for the the job plans. This may include steps and resources for crafts to assist with plant prep for the work.
• Identifies/solicits safety information and requirements necessary to safely perform tasks.
• Supports Maintenance Procedure Use Policy by ensuring all job packages include a procedure or the task is on the Procedure Exemption list before the job package is released. Checks that all Maintenance Procedures include a hazard assessment.
• Serves as a technical resource during procedure creation and review as needed. Creates develops changes updates job procedures and checklists and initiates procedure Management of Change (MOC) as required.
• Works with Maintenance Technical Support Operations and Technical Specialists to achieve department team and plant goals.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a craft role or maintenance equivalent experience.
• Must have a current valid US Drivers License.
• Must be willing to work overtime (extra hours beyond your regular schedule)
• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel and have the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Proficient in SAP

Your Skills

• Organizing Planning and Prioritizing Work: Ability to create detailed job plans and packages in SAP that specify labor materials tools and safety requirements for maintenance tasks.
• Problem Solving: Demonstrated capability to identify prioritize and resolve multiple tasks independently using technical and analytical skills.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document procedures.
• Time Management: Effectively prioritizes maintenance tasks to ensure safe efficient execution while meeting deadlines and minimizing downtime.
• Operations: Ability to collaborate with operations teams to integrate maintenance plans into plant schedules and ensure alignment with safety and productivity goals.

Physical Requirements

• Must be willing and able to do the following with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment including but not limited to a respirator.
• Perform frequent bending reaching and lifting.
• Frequent/occasional lifting of material weighing approximately 55 lbs.
• Work in tight or closed-in spaces.
• Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
• Stand 50% of the time.
• Walk for extended periods of time
• Work in an area of intense or continuous noise
• Work in an area with hazardous materials
• This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE) including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 285lbs.
