Health Assisting Vocational Assistant

Candidate will assist Health Assisting Instructor(s) in the shop and related theory classrooms. Knowledge of the competencies and skills required of students in specific vocational-technical areas is essential. The candidate will have an understanding of curriculum development students learning styles and possess the ability to work with all students in assisting the approved technical instructor in delivering quality programming to prepare the students to meet the demands of the modern workplace. School year Required:Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in MassachusettsResponsibilities and Duties: Assists in the daily planning of shop projects and related instruction and facilitates instructional blocks. Monitors the activities of small groups of students. Shares industry experience with students and staff. Monitors students in completing shop tasks while helping them to develop an attitude of personal and professional excellence. Assists the Health Assisting Instructor(s) in accommodating the special needs of individual students. Assists in the maintenance of individual student records. Helps maintain discipline under the supervision of the teacher. Assists the Health Assisting Instructor(s) in maintaining a safe clean and professional work environment. Assists the Health Assisting Instructor in the general organization and maintenance of the shop classroom materials and equipment. Assists the Health Assisting Instructor(s) in breaking down CTE competencies tasks and projects for diverse learners. Assists in the transportation of students to and from clinical sites. Assists in the supervision of students on campus and at clinical sites. Assists with clerical support of the program. Utilize Rediker Administrative Software office software (Word Excel) Google Docs and other Google Applications. Collaborate with the health assisting instructors. Additional duties and relevant responsibilities as assigned by the high school administration. Qualifications: Experience in the workplace in the specific vocational-technical training area. Characteristics that clearly incorporate a team concept and indicate an ability to relate positively to high school students and colleagues. Possess a personal and professional history that is exemplary and supported with references. Knowledge of shop safety and HIPAA guidelines. The candidate must be able to inspire excellence and prepare the students for social responsibility employment and postsecondary education to effectively meet our mission with enthusiasm and a positive ENVIRONMENT:Work is generally performed in a school environment during the school day; however there may be occasions for after-school meetings (ex Back to School Night).
