Under the guidance supervision of the Manager and Rehabilitation Services Staff provide assistance to the staff in the provision of Physical and Occupational Therapy services/Cast Room to the Hospitals inpatients and/or outpatients in conformance with the instruction of the therapist and policies of this department and New England BaptistJob Description:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs daily clerical/office duties as assigned by inpatient rehab services staff including but not limited to:
2. Sorts all rehab services incoming and outgoing mail for appropriate distribution to staff. Reorders office supplies PT/OT paperwork and PAS packets/patient education materials.
3. Provides support to therapists on patient floors by assisting with non-license required tasks. These tasks include but are not limited to:
4. Provides delegated treatments of routine specific exercises (initiated by therapist in prior treatment) to NEBH patients under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist or a physical therapist assistant. Completes note in electronic medical record that is dated and timed.
5. Reports patient response to treatment in a timely manner to the primary therapist. Communicates with RN staff prior to treatment as well as on completion of treatment.
6. Sanitizes all rehab equipment after patient use in accordance with hospital policy. Stores excess equipment in designated areas throughout patient floors.
7. Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
8. Assists with delivery of durable medical equipment (DME) to patients for discharge home when DME company rep is not working. When covering for the orthopedic tech: assists with delivery of orthopedic braces/assists with warm and form brace production/fit once instructed by orthopedic techs.
9. Utilizes time in a productive manner and able to effectively prioritize patient care and non-patient care responsibilities.
10. Responsible for reading email written communications staff meeting minutes hospital and applicable Policy and Procedures and other essential work-related communication.

Pay Range:
$18.00 - $24.30The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors that may include seniority education training relevant experience relevant certifications geographyof work location job responsibilities or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials call pay premium pay overtime pay and other additional pay practices as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
