Job Summary
HJ Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Grant Manager to support a state department. The Grant Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of federal and state-funded behavioral health grants ensuring compliance fiscal accountability and alignment with program goals.
This position plays a critical role in supporting DSAMHs mission to strengthen mental health and substance use disorder services throughout Delaware.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full grant lifecycle from proposal development to closeout.
Ensure compliance with federal state and local grant regulations (SAMHSA HHS etc.).
Track and report on budgets expenditures and program performance.
Review subrecipient financial and programmatic reports for accuracy and compliance.
Prepare and submit required progress and financial reports to funding agencies.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to monitor program goals and outcomes.
Develop and maintain procedures templates and tools for grant compliance and documentation.
Provide training and technical assistance to DSAMH program teams and community partners.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Public Administration Finance Public Health or related field (Masters preferred).
Experience:
3 years of experience in grant management or administration preferably in behavioral health or public sector environments.
Demonstrated understanding of SAMHSA HHS or federal grant compliance standards.
Experience monitoring and reporting on multiple grants simultaneously.
Skills:
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
Proficiency with Excel Word and grant management platforms (e.g. eGrants GrantSolutions).
Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Delawares behavioral health system and DSAMH operations.
Experience working with state or federal agencies.
Familiarity with performance-based and reimbursement grant structures.
