This position is for a full-time 12-month unclassified in-person staff position located on-site at our Natchitoches Campus.
Salary commensurate with credentials and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree required; bachelors degree preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience performing clerical tasks of routine difficulty including preparing and maintaining records.
  • Effectively use technology and computer software programs with proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Two (2) years of work experience at higher education institution in admissions or financial aid preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills needed with the ability to make small group presentations as well as remarkable skill in interacting with students on a one-on-one basis.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see read talk hear and handle or feel objects and controls.
  • Must have physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office equipment such as but not limited to personal computer calculator copier and fax machine.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be capable of sitting in stationary position for 50% or more of time.

Job Specification

This position helps students through every step of the enrollment process and is based at the BPCC Natchitoches campus. Responsibilities include answering questions in person and through phone email or text and guiding students through applying registering for classes and understanding financial aid and academic programs. The role also involves reviewing transcripts and credits keeping student records up to date helping with graduation checks and supporting events like orientation and registration.

Job Duties and Other Information

  • Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries via email text phone and other communication methods.
  • Assist students throughout the enrollment process by discussing application status advising on next steps enrolling students in courses and providing information about financial aid scholarships programs and majors.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in all student interactions both in person and remotely.
  • Process applications for admission (new re-entering and transfer) including the collection and review of supporting documentation.
  • Serve as the campus liaison between the Natchitoches campus and the Admissions/Registrar Office.
  • Assist with registration and documentation collection for special population on the Natchitoches campus particularly dual enrollment high school students.
  • Evaluate nontraditional and transfer credits including Industry-Based Credentials (IBCs) and collaborate with Academic Deans to determine articulated equivalents.
  • Input and maintain student data in the student information system ensuring accuracy and reconciling documents submitted through Dynamic Forms.
  • Reconcile daily reports and critically analyze data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Process incoming and outgoing college transcripts and other enrollment documents.
  • Assist the Registrar with graduation-related duties including evaluating degree audits and verifying that students meet graduation requirements.
  • Organize and participate in recruitment events new student orientations and registration activities to promote college programs and support enrollment goals.
  • Maintain working knowledge of core Enrollment Management functions (e.g. Financial Aid Academic Advising Veteran Services) to provide general assistance and make appropriate referrals.
  • Participate in campus events and activities outside of regular business hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
