Responsibilities:
Patrol library premises regularly to ensure safety and security of staff and patrons.
Collaborate with library personnel to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
Provide immediate response to incidents or emergencies ensuring a swift and effective resolution.
Educate library staff and visitors on safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
Assist in the training of library staff on security-related matters and best practices.
Foster positive relationships with library patrons to encourage a cooperative atmosphere.
Requirements:
Valid armed security or law enforcement license.
Proven experience in security operations preferably in public or community settings.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with library staff and patrons.
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure in emergency situations.
Understanding safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
Flexible availability to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends.
Commitment to creating a positive and welcoming environment for all library users.
