Production Team Member

• Minimum of a high school diploma 2-year technical degree a plus.
• Must have a valid drivers license and the ability to travel to work locations
• The ability and initiative to work safely contribute to the safety of team members and maintain a safe work environment.
• Must have excellent listening and communication skills; ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Must have the ability to work successfully with others and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
• Willing to wear personal protective equipment always and dress appropriately for an outdoor work environment with varying temperatures.
• Ability to work overtime as operating conditions require.
• Ability to perform the essential job functions such as bending stooping reaching overhead lifting and working at heights.
• Ability to view and update documents in Microsoft Word Outlook and Adobe
• Ability to complete data entry in a warehouse management system (Abecas)
• Willingness and ability to travel to the site on short notice to cover frost protection when temperatures reach 34 degrees as needed.

Assets:

• Ability to communicate in Spanish
• Two (2) years employment experience
• Forklift/tractor driver certification or ability to obtain it in a 6-month period

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with paid vacation for up to 3 weeks to use during your first year of addition after being employed for six months eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year providing a total of 88 hours along with paid parental leave for all full time employees.

Weyerhaeusers Western Timberlands has an opening for a Production Team Member with our Western Regeneration business. This full-time hourly position will be primarily based at our Regeneration Facility in Rochester WA with the potential to transition part of the year to our remote storage facility in Olympia WA depending on seasonal needs. The pay rate is $23.13 per hour. We are looking for a person who is dedicated to safety has a positive attitude excellent work ethic and a desire to work in an indoor and outdoor environment growing seedlings. The site grows about 20 million conifer seedlings a year for internal and external reforestation customers. Western Regeneration is comprised of 4 nurseries and 3 seed orchards throughout Washington and Oregon. The Rochester facility sits on 145 acres and consists of 22 acres of greenhouses and outdoor growing space 90 acres of seed orchard and a seed cleaning facility.

Key Functions:

• Set a good example in safety professionalism integrity fairness and positive work attitude.
• Be accountable for safety documentation and record keeping; use and updating of job safety analysis documents with updates to safety procedures with the site team and completion of required safety training.
• Assist team members in regular duties in the seedling production processes including soil production sowing transplanting irrigation seedling lifting packing shipping pesticide applications and frost protection
• Willingness and ability to learn new jobs and skills.
• Communicating with team members and managers to ensure consistent exchange of information related to crop and production activity safety and environmental concerns and hazards and provide recommendations or feedback on process improvements.
• Communicating with customers and truck drivers about inventory and order status
• Diagnosis and troubleshooting of irrigation equipment issues and perform preventive maintenance on the irrigation equipment.
• Team member will flow to the different departments of the Rochester site (Seed Orchard Greenhouse Operations and Seed Plant) to work with those groups at times of peak production.
• Potential to work 6 months out of the year at remote storage facility located in Olympia WA.
