About the Project

Our client is developing a large-scale internal platform to support software delivery across multiple engineering teams. The aim is to enable faster more efficient development of digital solutions that drive transformation across the organisation.

The platform is a cloud-native service-oriented environment providing teams with self-service tools for infrastructure data management service lifecycle build pipelines and operational supportallowing engineers to focus on innovation and delivery excellence.



Role Overview

The Programme QA Co-Lead will define drive and optimise the overall Quality Assurance (QA) strategy across a complex multi-team software programme. The role focuses on embedding QA best practices into engineering workflows implementing test automation and shift-left methodologies and ensuring consistent quality standards throughout the delivery lifecycle.

This position sits within a central delivery function and requires senior-level experience in establishing QA frameworks across distributed technology environments.



Key Responsibilities

QA Strategy & Process Leadership

  • Define and execute a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with programme objectives

  • Establish test methodologies objectives and success criteria

  • Promote and implement shift-left QA practices across all delivery streams

  • Continuously review and improve QA processes for efficiency and effectiveness

  • Champion a culture of quality and collaboration across teams

Testing & Coordination

  • Develop and manage detailed test plans for integration and release stages

  • Coordinate testing activities across product and platform teams

  • Allocate and oversee QA resources to ensure smooth execution

  • Conduct risk assessments and define mitigation strategies for quality issues

Quality Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track and report progress test coverage and defect metrics

  • Provide stakeholders with clear data-driven QA insights

  • Identify recurring issues and recommend corrective actions

Tooling & Vendor Management

  • Evaluate select and implement QA tools and frameworks

  • Manage relationships with QA tool vendors and external service providers

  • Ensure smooth tool integration and maintain test automation effectiveness


Requirements

Profile Requirements

Must-have experience

  • Proven track record as a Programme QA Lead accountable for defining and delivering QA strategy and roadmap

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills in complex environments

  • In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum) including sprint and quarterly planning

  • Advanced user of JIRA and Confluence

  • Hands-on experience with TestRail NFR testing tools and QA reporting solutions

  • Experience managing and mentoring QA teams with a focus on automated testing

  • Ability to translate complex QA concepts into clear actionable communication for technical and non-technical audiences

  • Fluent English (minimum B2 level)

Preferred experience

  • Experience in large-scale platform or enterprise software environments

  • Broad technical understanding of cloud services (AWS GCP or Azure) including:

    • Kubernetes

    • Identity & Access Management (IAM) / Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)

    • Observability and monitoring practices
