The Department of Public Health & Human Services is seeking to fill 4 Client Service Supervisor positions at various locations statewide. The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Health & Community Services Division.
This position supervises and trains employees who make eligibility determinations for applicants seeking services. The Office of Public Assistance (OPA) supports Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP formerly food stamps) disabled individuals and a variety of health coverage programs. This Client Service Supervisor position ensures eligibility programs are administered and determined in an accurate and timely manner. This position directly supervises at least two employees and may supervise up to ten staff.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
Knowledge of social problems cultural and human behavior community based and/or statewide assistance programs and eligibility requirements.
General knowledge of personnel management and supervision.
Skill in working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
Ability to foster collaboration provide effective training and guidance to staff.
Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to resolve problems.
Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and function effectively with strict deadlines constant changes and adapt to high stress situations.
Meet minimum qualifications:
Bachelors degree in business human services with a concentration that is directly related to public assistance or a closely related filed of study.
Three years of Client Service Coordinator work experience or other job-related work experience with duties that include complex analysis and decision making and/or solving complex client service problems.
One year of supervisory experience
Other combinations of related education and experience maybe considered on a case-by-case basis.
Preferred experience working with tribal government entities and / or other organizations of native peoples highly preferred.

The primary location for this position is open for consideration contingent on available workspace. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state and DPHHS policies.
This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1 2026.
