The Opportunity:

Were looking for a passionate and creative Assistant Brand Manager to join our marketing team in the UK and help shape the future of one of the worlds most iconic toy brands: Barbie!

This is a fantastic opportunity to bring fresh ideas drive consumer engagement and contribute to strategic marketing campaigns for a brand that encourages limitless potential in every girl! 

Barbie focuses on creating diverse dolls accessories and story lines that encourage children to explore hundreds of different careers and lifestyles ultimately showing them they can be anything! 

We are looking for a passionate driven individual that can support the Barbie Brand Manager and Senior Marketing Manager in delivering purpose-led brand activations that ultimately deliver brand growth.

The Assistant Brand Manager is responsible for supporting the development of brand and category strategies at a local level as well as delivering local marketing plans tactics (the 4Ps of Product Price Place and Promotion) and assets that work effectively in the UK to gain category share in a profitable way ensuring the continued iconic status and growth of the Barbie brand.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute the local Brand Franchise strategies in partnership with the Barbie Brand Manager.
  • Collaborate closely with the other members of the Marketing and Sales Team (day-to-day communication) for effective brand management.
  • Media Agency management; collaborate with external partners on delivering standout campaigns with clear results and learnings.
  • Product Line selection: create recommended line and pricing architecture for each season refresh.
  • Interrogate the Barbie segments you will own analyze their performance and work on strategies to grow these segments.
  • Deliver compelling product and marketing presentations to sales and external retailers and partners.
  • Contribute to joint meetings with top markets and global teams offering feedback for the UK market.
  • Partner with the global sales finance and planning team for day-to-day management of the UK business.
  • Manage local A&P spend management in line with brand priorities.
  • Share learnings of best practice within regional and global teams. Implement learnings from other markets where appropriate.

Qualifications :

What Were Looking For:

  • Marketing/Commercial experience at a similar level within Brand Marketing in Toys FMCG or licensed consumer goods or Franchise Management experience (preferably in the childrens entertainment sector.
  • Degree in Marketing Sales Business Administration preferred.
  • Can build strong and effective relationships with many stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on a wide variety of projects with aggressive deadlines and can multi-task accordingly.
  • Strategic thinking ability and able to demonstrate creativity through the proposal of new business opportunities.
  • Commercial understanding: comfortable with interpreting data and drawing conclusions from it. Understand whats needed to assess financial opportunities within a Category / Market.
  • Great tactical skills ability to react quickly to changing situations.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
