The role

The Senior Manager Community Engagement role leads the way in shaping how Greater Sydney Parklands connects with communities and stakeholders. Youll design and deliver engagement strategies that make sure voices are heard and decisions are informed. From advising senior leaders to managing projects and partnerships your work ensures planning reflects community needs and best practice standards.

Its a role that calls for navigating complex issues and balancing diverse interests under tight timeframes. Youll need to think strategically communicate clearly and build trust while driving innovative engagement approaches that bring people together and create lasting impact.

What you will bring to the role

  • Deep experience in designing and delivering community and stakeholder engagement strategies that drive meaningful participation.
  • Strong ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build trust resolve sensitive issues and influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical capability to identify emerging issues and develop evidence-based solutions.
  • Leadership skills to inspire and guide teams fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Adaptability and resilience to thrive in dynamic environments and respond effectively to changing priorities.

What is an essential requirement:

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications public relations policy or related discipline and/or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Willing and able to travel to outer suburban and regional locations and to work outside of core business hours in the evening and on weekends.

Desirable

  • Management experience
  • Knowledge of the International Association for Public Participation - IAP2 Spectrum
