Job Summary

The Engineering Departments Information Management (IM) group is seeking a motivated early-career engineer with initial experience as a business analyst or application engineer who enjoys helping others and is eager to learn.

You will join a dynamic and multidisciplinary team of engineers and IT professionals within CERNs Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Service whose mission is to support enhance and digitalise the organisations Asset and Maintenance Management processes. This growing service is fully centred around CERNs EAM platform based on the commercial product HxGN EAM which thousands of users rely on every day to manage CERNs accelerator complex and its technical infrastructure.

As an EAM Business Analyst you will work closely with engineers technicians and developers to understand user needs analyse business processes propose improvements and help ensure the reliable day-to-day operation of the EAM platform and the applications built around it. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn about the inner workings of CERNs technical infrastructure while contributing to digital tools that that enable world-class scientific research.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day functional support to users of CERNs EAM platform addressing questions and incidents in collaboration with the service team.
  • Act as a bridge between users and developers gathering and translating business needs into clear functional requirements.
  • Analyse and document processes related to asset and maintenance management proposing improvements and supporting system evolution.
  • Test and validate new features and updates ensuring quality and alignment with user expectations.
  • Prepare and maintain user guides and training materials promoting consistent use of the EAM system across CERN.

Your profile

  • Experience and/or strong knowledge in IT systems support business analysis and/or process improvement.
  • Experience and/or strong knowledge of enterprise or business applications (e.g. ERP EAM or similar).
  • Experience and/or strong knowledge of user-facing and/or coordination role supporting and/or collecting feedback from end-users.
  • Exposure to testing documentation or training activities would be an asset.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of business processes and ability to translate them into system requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of databases web applications or integration concepts.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to liaise effectively between users and technical teams.
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail when investigating or documenting issues.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies in a complex technical environment.
  • Spoken and written English or French with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • By the application deadline you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Information Technology (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelors or Masters degree.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
  • Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.

Additional Information :

Job closing date: 23.11.2025 at 23:59 CET.

Contract duration: 24 months with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

Working hours: 40 hours per week
