Your role and responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Communicate and engage effectively with children young people families colleagues and communities.
  • Support assessment planning and review processes using Suffolks Signs of Safety principles and tools.
  • Manage risk and safeguarding responsibilities with confidence and care.
  • Maintain accurate records and data using electronic systems and produce reports as required.
  • Work within service guidelines statutory guidance and legal frameworks.

Experience

You may have experience in:

  • Working directly with children young people or families.
  • Using frameworks like Signs of Safety or similar approaches.
  • Supporting SEND processes or working in education health or social care.
  • Handling assessments reviews or planning interventions.
  • Experience in customer service youth work or community support is also highly valued your skills are transferable.

Minimum requirements

  • A Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • A positive attitude willingness to learn and commitment to making a difference.

The team

Our Statutory SEND Services Team works closely with families schools and professionals to assess needs and develop Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). We collaborate with:

  • Education Skills and Learning Teams
  • Special Education Services
  • SEND Funding and Provider Services
  • Educational Psychology and Therapeutic Services
  • Social Care and Health

The Non-School Alternative Provision Team fulfils the Local Authoritys Section 19 duties by sourcing commissioning and reviewing placements in non-school settings. We monitor attendance liaise with providers and manage panel paperwork to ensure placements meet EHCP needs.
