Job Overview
CalHHS is seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide leadership and oversight for multiple initiatives across the agency. This role requires hands-on management of large-scale State of California IT projects and experience working in a collaborative policy environment. Candidates with Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) experience will have strong alignment with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale IT projects ($10M) for California state agencies or departments.
- Manage project scope schedule budget and risk ensuring successful delivery.
- Facilitate stakeholder discussions public sector presentations and collaborative decision-making.
- Conduct policy-driven meetings and focus groups for fact-finding risk assessment and agreement building.
- Apply Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) processes to ensure compliance with state governance and approval requirements.
- Provide status reporting documentation and recommendations to senior management.
Minimum Qualifications (MQs)
- 3 years FTE project management experience in a lead capacity on large-scale State of California IT projects within the past 10 years.
- 3 years FTE experience in a collaborative policy environment including:
- Leading stakeholder discussions
- Delivering public sector presentations
- Facilitating IT or policy-driven focus groups and meetings
- PMP Certification is required.
- Strong State of CA public sector experience.
- PAL (Project Approval Lifecycle) experience is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously at various project stages.
- Strong communication organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
