Responsibility:

• Plan and coordinate all services provided by the Health Information Department.
• Supervise and maintain the Medical Records area including goal setting planning policy and procedure development quality assurance and improvement and competency of staff.
• Design and implement the processes used to manage patient information while ensuring privacy and security of all medical records.
• Provide leadership strategic direction and management of the day to day operations of the Health Information Management (HIM) function.
• Act as a technical or administrative resource for comprehensive lean process improvement and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) direct and evaluate daily activities of all file room operations at the FHCs.
• Provide on-going training to professional clinical and clerical staff regarding the medical record contents coding confidentiality and security.
• Train Super Users from each clinic department so as to increase the availability of Super User subject experts in each area.
• Report on the review of medical records for timely completion and documentation.
• Coordinate procedures for release of medical information and correspondence requests according to local policies state and federal statutes and laws.

Requirements:

• Degree in Health Information Management
• Registered Health Information Associate (RHIA) certification
• 2 years Health Information experience
• 1 year of supervisory experience
• Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
